Lauren Johnston was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan but raised in SoCal. She became inspired by her younger sister to begin dancing at age 13. After high school Lauren was accepted into Chapman University where she began to grow her passion for dance.
She graduated in 2020 with a BFA in Dance Performance (NDEO Honors) and Entrepreneurship. During her time in college she was recognized as an 'Outstanding Choreographer' for her piece showcasing Adjustment Disorder in Concert Intime (2019).
Lauren has worked and performed with choreographers such as Jackie Sleight, Ido Tadmor, Karen Chuang, Will Johnston, Azuki Umeda, Alicia Guy, and had the ability to travel to Israel to study the origin of contemporary dance with the Batsheva Dance Company.
Focused on the career longevity of the dancers she works with, Lauren brings her Lagree certification into the classroom to provide knowledge about the importance of rest and recovery. She is also mat pilates and VersaClimber certified.
She has loved every moment here in her first year with this DP Family. She cannot wait for what the future holds!
